Membership in the VFW is limited to veterans who:
- received a campaign medal for overseas service
- served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea
- received hostile fire/imminent danger pay
If you meet these criteria, you’ve earned your membership in the VFW. This is something only a small percentage of the U.S. population will ever be able to claim, and you should be proud of your service. The VFW is dedicated to fostering camaraderie amongst members, assisting eligible veterans and their families, educating the public about our proud military history, advocating for veterans’ causes, and honoring the memory of our fallen comrades.
Membership in the VFW has many benefits. In addition to providing the intangible benefit of camaraderie with men and women who understand what you experienced overseas, we are committed to helping veterans navigate the confusing world of VA benefits and claims, make the most of their educational benefits, and finding work with vet-friendly employers who understand and value your military service. Additionally, VFW members are eligible for the following benefits and discounts (this list is not all-inclusive!)
- VFW/USAA Credit Card
- Travel Discounts:
- Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
- Veterans Travel Services (VTS)
- LifeLock – identity theft protection
- eKNowledge – SAT/ACT test preparation
- Dell Computers – up to a 7% discount
- SportClips – haircuts
